10 Tips To Change Your Mindset To A Positive One

1. Meditate or do Yoga.

Yoga helps to avert your focus away from thoughts and brings attention to your breath. Yoga is also very relaxing, which helps to ease the mind. Yoga is amazing at helping to stay present to experiences so instead of jumping to what could happen, it brings attention back to the now—the only moment and the most important moment.

2. Smile & self care

Smile and the whole world smiles with you. It really does help change your mood and relieve stress, and it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown. Take the time you need for yourself, get some healing, take a bath, read a book, walk in nature or meditate

3. Surround yourself with positive people.

Like attracts like, so when you’re stuck in a negative spiral, talk to people who can put things into perspective and won’t feed your negative thinking.

4. Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive.

For example, instead of thinking, “I can’t face seeing people today,” think, “Perhaps seeing people will lift my mood”

5. Don’t play the victim. Own it!

Even when situations become unbearable, there is always a way out. Nothing stays the same forever, Life is fluid. You always have choice. Don’t dwell, draw a line and move on to tomorrow.

6. Help someone.

This is one the most rewarding actions you can take to help with your positivity. Unselfishly giving - giving without expecting return is truly magical.

7. Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward.

It’s easy to dwell on your mistakes but try not let them consume you. The more energy you give something the more it will linger. Worrying has no value and it will definitely not solve anything.

8. Sing.

When we sing, we show our feelings, and this provides an amazing stress relief.

9. List five things that you are grateful for right now.

Start a gratitude diary, write 3 things you are grateful for before bed every night. It can be anything, and it changes your mindset. It can be as simple as appreciation for a smile from a stranger, a lovely tasting sandwich, comfy pillow or moment of peace.

10. Read positive quotes

Place Post-It notes with positive quotes on your computer, fridge door, and mirror as reminders to stay positive.
